Indications:

Bisacodyl is used to relieve occasional constipation and bowel irregularity. It is a stimulant laxative that acts directly on the bowel by stimulating the bowel muscles to create a bowel movement. It may also be used for other conditions as directed by the physician.

How to take:

Take Bisacodyl as directed by the doctor. Check medicine labels for exact dose and instructions. This drug is taken with a glass of water, with or without food. Drinking lots of fluids is recommended when in Bisacodyl treatment. Swallow tablet as a whole, do not break, crush, or chew before swallowing. Precautions:

Safety use of the drug during pregnancy, lactation, or in children is not established therefore use cautiously. Bisacodyl tablet is given in the evening or before breakfast. Give tablets as a whole, do not chew, crush or cut to avoid gastric irritation. Do not give Bisacodyl tablet within 1 hour of antacid and milk intake as may result in gastric irritation and cathartic action.
